Navigating Controversial Topics in the Classroom: Munch & Learn
Seeking guidance & support for navigating controversial topics in your classroom?
Join this Munch & Learn – a welcoming space for faculty to share experiences and concerns, explore best practices, and engage in dialogue that upholds academic freedom and professional and discipline-specific standards. The session features a brief panel discussion, small-group sharing, and an open Q&A.
Light refreshments will be served – but feel free to bring your lunch!

Learning Outcomes
- Participants will network with colleagues from across Rowan to share practices, challenges, and resources and to find follow-up peers to contact for ongoing support.
- Participants will reflect on distinctions between teaching, facilitating debate, and perceived indoctrination.
- Participants will identify opportunities to implement inclusive discussion tools (e.g., one protocol and one hot-moment response) in upcoming classes and note when/where they will use them.
