Using Canvas to Support Communication with Students

In this interactive session, you'll explore how to maximize Canvas's built-in communication features to foster stronger connections with your students. Learn proven strategies to streamline messaging, boost engagement, and support learning—whether you're teaching face-to-face or online.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify key communication tools available in Canvas.
  • Explain the benefits of using Canvas communication tools in face-to-face instruction.
  • Evaluate which tools best align with your course format and teaching style.
  • Apply at least one Canvas communication tool in your course.

This session is part of a series of interactive Zoom workshops, Using Canvas to Support Face-to-Face Instruction, designed to enhance your teaching by integrating Canvas with your face-to-face classes. Each one-hour session will focus on a specific topic, offering practical strategies and best practices.

Workshops are supported by a dedicated Canvas shell, allowing you to explore tools and techniques hands-on. Participants who complete the pre-survey, the session, and the post-survey will receive a certificate of participation. Whether you're new to Canvas or looking to refine your skills, these sessions are a great opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.
