Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain common challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ patients as they seek medical care.
  2. Identify various methods a medical practice can implement to become more welcoming to current and potential LGBTQIA+ patients.
  3. Describe how to sensitively and effectively elicit relevant information about sex anatomy, sexual behavior, sexual history, sexual orientation, and gender identity from all patients.
